Avionics Engineer

Icelandair is looking for a powerful individual to join its Design and Development division, located in Hafnarfjörður. The division designs modifications and repairs for the company aircrafts as well as other operators and airlines under the authority og the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and its DOA (Design Organization Approval) Part 21J authority issued by EASA.

 

We are looking for and individual that is has an interest in the design of avionics installations for aircraft. The projects consist of creating installation instructions, drawings and engineering reports to support the installation of different avionics equipment in aircraft as well as modifications to existing equipment. We are also constantly looking for new opportunities and solutions in the ever-evolving avionics equipment market.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and verification of changes in avionics equipment onboard aircraft
  • Supporting Icelandair maintenance services
  • Program Management and cost control
  • Communication with vendors, airlines and authorities
  • Assist airlines with in choosing equipment
  • Review of aircraft paperwork

Requirements:

  • University degree in engineering or B2 aircraft mechanic with experience
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance is considered an advantage
  • Excellent computer skills including drawing and text software
  • Good communication skills and initiative
  • Independent and disciplined work methods
  • Good knowledge of the English language
